John J. Ferguson, Jr., 85 of Lakewood, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020.
He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania to the late John, Sr. and Mildred (nee-Kronenberger) Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson was a U.S Navy Veteran, and served in the Korean War.
John was an active member of American Legion - Theodore Roosevelt Post 469 in Cleveland. He served various positions, including Past Commander and was most recently First Vice.
He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and candle making.
The Special Olympics were a big part of John’s life and he played a big role in working with the organization.
He is survived by his children, Wendy Ferguson, Scott Ferguson and Missy Ferguson; grandchildren, Danielle Hawkins (Roberto), Lee Schmick, Sam Hawkins (Ashley), Colin Ferguson and Brandon Ferguson.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (nee-Foley) Ferguson, a daughter, Rhonda Ferguson-Farrer, brothers, Barry and Jerry Ferguson.
John was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life service will be at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Theodore Roosevelt American Legion Post 469, 4910 Memphis Ave. Cleveland, OH 44144.
