Nellie “Paulette” Pardue Lewis passed away peacefully at Menorah Park in Beachwood, Ohio on Friday, June 22, 2018. She was born in 1950 in Montgomery, West Virginia to the late Delbert Ray and Nettie Annalie Stringer Pardue and grew up in Bedford, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband Richard Wade Lewis. She and Rick raised their three girls Angela (Anthony) Zambito, Beth Lemasters and Christina (Jason) Bilak in Maple Heights, Ohio. Paulette was the grandmother of Anthony Paul, Arabella, Aidan, Aaron, Audrey, Ryan and Olin; sister of Michael (Sharon) Pardue, Barbara (Dave Brown) Justice and the late Daniel Pardue; aunt of Bill, Tom, Maggie and Danny.
Rick and Paulette met in high school. After their marriage on August 15, 1970 they had three daughters finally settling in Maple Heights to raise them. The couple had an open door at their home. Many friends and neighbors would just walk in anytime to converse around the kitchen table. Their home was affectionately referred to as “Lewis’ Clinic”. In addition to a steady stream of visitors, someone was always living there. Rick and Paulette often welcomed those in need of a place to stay or live if they needed help. In most recent years, Paulette still helped and took care of those in her family that needed it most.
It was Paulette’s final wish to be cremated. Her remains will be interred privately at Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont, Ohio at a later date.
A memorial service to celebrate Paulette’s life will be held later this summer. Please leave a condolence if you wish to be contacted with the date and location.
Paulette was in the care of Menorah Park and their hospice program during her final week. She was lovingly and compassionately cared for by every staff member. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Menorah Park 27100 Cedar Rd., Beachwood, OH 44122 or at menorahpark.org.
