Paul A. Kostansek, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Loving father of Elizabeth, David (Tessa), Christopher and the late Michael; grandfather of Nathan, Joy, Matthew, Tyler and Kyle. Paul was preceded in death by his former spouse Barbara; parents Frances and Anthony; brother Frank and sister Frances.

Paul was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Case Western Reserve University, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering.

After proudly serving as a Sergeant with the US Army in Korea during the Korean War, he returned home and began his career at a prominent national paint company before moving on to finish his career at Werner G Smith in Cleveland.

Paul’s favorite activities included golfing, bowling, fishing, camping and traveling. As an avid golfer he always looked forward to and enjoyed his out of state trips with all his golf buddies to play courses in South Carolina and Mississippi. When not on the golf course or at his favorite fishing spot he enjoyed exercising and socializing at the Seven Hills Rec center with his cardiac rehab friends. He was long time member of St Francis de Sales parish in Parma and was a respected member of the parish’s Holy Name Society.

Paul is fondly remembered by his children as a quiet, kind man with a fun sense of humor who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

We thank Continuum Care Hospice and his friends who helped or checked with him this past year.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Frances de Sales Church in Parma at a later date. Please check back or sign up here for updates.
